1. Mounting Surface Requirements
- Solid Wood / MDF Shelving: This bracket is optimized for underside mounting on fixed shelves. Use the included screws to secure the bracket directly into the wood or composite material.
- Closet Casework: Ideal for mounting to the top "ceiling" of a wardrobe cabinet.
- Drywall/Ceiling: If mounting directly to a ceiling without a shelf, ensure you are drilling into a wood joist. If a joist is not available, use toggle bolts (not included) to support the weight of a fully loaded wardrobe.
2. When is a Center Support Required?
To prevent permanent bowing or rod failure, we recommend the following spacing for 1-5/16" diameter rods:
- Spans up to 60" (5 ft): Generally self-supporting, but a center bracket is recommended for heavy winter coats or suits.
- Spans 60" to 96" (8 ft): One center support is mandatory.
- Spans over 96": Two or more supports should be used, spaced no more than 48" apart.
3. Low-Profile Design & Clearance

- Rod Drop: The distance from the mounting surface to the center of your rod is 2.81" (71 mm).
- Hanger Clearance: Ensure you have at least 2 inches of clearance above the mounting surface if you are using high-neck or specialized garment hangers.
4. Technical Installation Steps

Mark the Center: Measure the total width of your rod and mark the exact center point on the underside of your shelf.

Pilot Holes: Drill two small pilot holes using the 1.50" (38 mm) center-to-center spacing guide to prevent wood splitting.
