The TAG Hardware Suspended Center Support is designed for maximum versatility. Depending on your closet layout, use the following guidelines to ensure a secure, sag-free installation:

1. Mounting to Solid Wood or MDF Shelving

• Best For: Fixed top shelves in custom closet systems.

• How to install: Secure the bracket directly to the underside of the shelf using the included wood screws.

• Pro Tip: For maximum weight capacity, ensure your shelf is securely anchored to the wall cleats or vertical partitions before hanging heavy wardrobe loads.

2. Ceiling Mounting (Walk-in Closets)

• Best For: Creating a "floating" rod effect or when no top shelf is present.

• How to install: Locate the ceiling joists for a secure bite. If joists are not aligned with your rod placement, use heavy-duty toggle bolts or drywall anchors rated for at least 50 lbs.

• Vertical Clearance: Remember that this bracket provides a 2.81" (71 mm) drop from the mounting surface to the center of the rod.

3. Wire Shelving Compatibility

• Compatibility: Not directly compatible.

• Note: This bracket requires a flat, solid surface for the mounting plate. It is not designed to clip onto standard wire shelving.

• Recommendation: If you are upgrading a wire closet, we recommend replacing the top section with a solid shelf to accommodate the TAG Hardware luxury finish and weight capacity.

4. When is a Center Support Required?

To maintain the integrity of your 1-5/16" rod and prevent bowing:

• Rods up to 48": Center support is optional but recommended for heavy coats.

• Rods 48" to 72": One center support is required.

• Rods over 72": Two or more center supports should be spaced equally (every 36"–40").

This bracket is precision-engineered for 1-5/16" (33 mm) diameter rods. It will not fit 1" or 1-1/2" rods.
